Lifting Liberal Leadership in Prayer

Liberty Counsel is inviting you to participate in a powerful, prayer-in-action program...Adopt a Liberal. Framed upon St. Paul's admonition to his disciple, Timothy (1 Timothy 2:1-4), we are inviting citizens to adopt a liberal who is in authority or cultural influence for regular, intense prayer. In fact, we expect that many of our friends and supporters will choose to adopt many liberals as subjects of their prayer!

To get started, simply read our prayer statement below and add your name, confirming that you are committed to adopt one or more liberals in prayer. To commemorate your prayer commitment, we'll send you a FREE "Have You Prayed for a Liberal Today?" bumper sticker!

Once confirmed, pick one or more of the liberals from the list we have posted online here, or choose your own liberal(s) to adopt. If you are led to choose one or more of the liberals we have selected for consideration, please read each adoptee's brief biographical statement, including the reasons they stand in need of prayer. You may also nominate one or more liberals for prayer by emailing us at liberty@LC.org, sharing with us the reasons why you feel they qualify for the program.

Finally, and most importantly, regularly PRAY for our Nation's liberals who are holding positions of power and/or influence!

While we understand there is a certain amount of tongue-in-cheek humor associated with our prayer initiative, it is our sincere hope that we will soon hear vivid testimonies of God having changed liberals' lives and worldviews—because of the power of prayer!


Prayer Statement

As a believer and an American, I am deeply concerned about the leadership of our Nation and the leftist political philosophy many in authority are promoting. I am therefore committing to daily, earnest prayer, lifting up liberal government officials and other liberals in positions of cultural influence. I am asking that the Lord move upon them and cause them to be the kind of leaders who will give every American an opportunity to lead "a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:2). Furthermore, I will ask the Lord to temper my prayer with His love, grace and mercy, always seeking His will for the subjects of my intercession.
