STAND WITH LIBERTY COUNSEL AGAINST THE
 NEW CALIFORNIA LAW BANNING "CHANGE THERAPY"

SB 1172 prohibits any counseling to reduce or eliminate unwanted same-sex attractions, even when the client seeks help. Counselors who provide the banned treatment, or who refer clients to another counselor who does so, will be charged by the state with ethical misconduct and risk losing their licenses! Under California's SB 1172, counselors will be forced to disregard their clients' religious beliefs...or change them.

Liberty Counsel's lawsuit will prove that California's new policy contained in SB 1172
is an outrageous intrusion into the rights of both counselors and their
 patients and is clearly unconstitutional!  

Simply add your name to the "Open Letter of Support" declaring your endorsement for Liberty Counsel's lawsuit and the rights of parents, children, and counselors. The letter will be delivered to the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) and the American Association for Christian Counselors (AACC).

We, the undersigned citizens, stand united with mental health professionals and millions of California families in unapologetically declaring our support for Liberty Counsel's lawsuit and legal fight against the new policies contained in California's SB 1172.

This bill is an outrageous overreach of a state government's power and a clear violation of individual rights and we believe it must be declared unconstitutional.

SB 1172 and the ethical codes of all of the licensing boards are on an inevitable collision course. The licenses of countless mental health professionals hang in the balance. The lives of many young people and their families will be destroyed under this law. This law completely undermines parental rights and the work of mental health professionals.

For the state to assume that it knows best concerning the kind of counseling individual patients should receive is the height of hubris and ignorance!

We join with you in the battle to STOP this outrageous and appalling law from being implemented.
